Yamada Ayumi is a popular figure in the art college. She's a master of Pottery and is tenacious. She's friends with Takemoto and Morita.
Yamada is also well-known as Tetsujin (Ironman). During her freshman year, Yamada runs 6km to school every morning with his dog to help it loss weight.
His family runs a liquor store in the shopping district. In effect, she has a lot of admirers from there: friends and co-workers.
When Hagu entered the picture both of them quickly becomes close friends such that Hagu calls her Ayu. Yamada cares for Hagu like a younger sister.
Yamada is deeply in love with Mayama. However, Mayama, who is in love with Harada Rika, doesn't return her feelings. Instead, Mayama encourages her to find someone else. But then again, even though Yamada sees that there won't be any results of her love, she continues on to develop feelings for Mayama.
She continues to love Mayama because someday Mayama's relationship might not work out with Harada Rika. She presses on.
